Jay “Sensei” Brown
With nearly 25 years of experience in firearms and self-defense, I bring a wealth of real-world expertise to every class I teach. I proudly served 8 years in the United States military, reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant and leading as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Team Leader. During my service, I completed multiple deployments around the world, including Iraq, where I honed my skills under high-pressure and life-critical conditions.
After my military career, I spent two years as a contractor, further expanding my operational experience. I then dedicated 15 years to federal service with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), where I work alongside law enforcement at every level and collaborate with other federal agencies to ensure public safety and national security.
Teaching firearms has been a passion of mine for many years, and I continually enhance my skills through advanced training and certifications. As an NRA-certified Pistol and Rifle Instructor, I focus on practical, down-to-earth training that empowers individuals to handle firearms with confidence and responsibility.
My mission is to provide straightforward, real-world instruction that helps you feel prepared to protect yourself and your loved ones. Whether you’re a first-time shooter or looking to advance your skills, I look forward to sharing my experience and helping you on your journey toward responsible and capable firearm ownership.
